RIMSD41 community members are invited to join us for the Rock Island High School 2026 Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 25!
The parade begins at 3:30 p.m. at Hauberg Park on 24th Street. The parade will travel south on 24th Street to 25th Avenue, then continue to Rock Island High School.
Come out and celebrate with our scholars, staff, and school community!

The 2026 Scholar, Parent, and Staff Satisfaction Survey is now live! We invite our scholars (3rd - 12th Grades), families, and staff to take a few minutes to share their feedback about their experiences with RIMSD41.
The survey is open from September 23 through October 28. Your feedback helps us understand what is working well, identify opportunities for improvement, and continue strengthening our schools and district.

At Rock Island-Milan School District 41, the arts inspire creativity, build confidence, and give every scholar opportunities to discover their voice and express themselves. Through dance, theater, music, and more, our scholars explore their creativity, develop new skills, and discover new ways to shine.

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the Reading Revolution is highlighting stories by Hispanic and Latino authors that celebrate family, culture, identity, and the diverse experiences that shape our communities.
📖 My Papi Has a Motorcycle by Isabel Quintero: A young girl and her father take a motorcycle ride through their California neighborhood, celebrating family, community, and the places they call home.
📖 Merci Suárez Changes Gears by Meg Medina: Sixth-grader Merci navigates friendship, family changes, and growing up while learning more about herself and the people she loves.
📖 The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo: A Dominican American teenager discovers the power of poetry as she finds her voice and navigates family expectations, faith, and identity.
Through the Reading Revolution, we encourage our Rocky scholars to explore new perspectives, connect with others, and discover the power of storytelling. ❤️💛

Last night, our district and school leaders had the honor of attending the Rock Island-Milan Education Foundation's annual Making a Difference Reception.
Our principals, teachers, and scholars had the opportunity to showcase some of the amazing projects happening across our schools, made possible through the generous support of RIMEF grants.
We are grateful to RIMEF for investing in innovative ideas that create meaningful learning experiences and make a difference for our scholars.

We recently visited the addition at Eugene Field Elementary and are excited to see the progress being made and the space that will soon serve our scholars.
Thank you to our partner, Russell, for helping bring this project forward and supporting the work happening across our district.
We’re also looking forward to our first 2026–27 Facility Management Plan quarterly meeting and invite community members to join us on Monday, September 14, from 5:30–6:30 p.m. at Washington Jr. High School.

Today, we remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders, heroes, and countless individuals who came together to help, serve, and rebuild in the days and years that followed.
This week, Superintendent Dr. Williams had the opportunity to deliver her annual State of the Schools address at a joint meeting of the Rock Island Rotary and Rock Island Kiwanis Club.
This annual event highlights the strong, ongoing partnership between RIMSD41 and these two dedicated service organizations. We are grateful to both organizations for their continued support of our scholars, schools, and community.

The Reading Revolution continued this weeks as Mrs. Castro's second grade class welcomed a special Mystery Reader: Kory Kuffler, sports broadcaster for WQAD News 8!
Mr. Kuffler read Miss Nelson Has a Field Day by James Marshall - and, by pure coincidence, it happened to be a book he used to read with his son. He also shared a little about his career before bringing the story to life for our scholars.
Thank you, Mr. Kuffler, for taking the time out of your day to inspire a love of reading and supporting the Reading Revolution. Eugene Field loved having you as their Mystery Reader! 💙💚

Join us for Grandfriend's Day on Thursday, September 10th, 3:00-4:00.
Students can invite a grandparent(s) or grandfriend(s) to visit Eugene Field:
- Show them around the school
- Enjoy a cookie and water in the gym together
- Get your picture taken together
- Visit the book fair
Please arrange a location to meet your student outside after dismissal. You will reenter the building through the gym doors.
