Join us for Grandfriend's Day on Thursday, September 10th, 3:00-4:00.
Students can invite a grandparent(s) or grandfriend(s) to visit Eugene Field:
- Show them around the school
- Enjoy a cookie and water in the gym together
- Get your picture taken together
- Visit the book fair
Please arrange a location to meet your student outside after dismissal. You will reenter the building through the gym doors.

Eugene Field's book fair will be open Tuesday - Friday morning, 8:30-11:30.
Students will visit the book fair with their class to browse and create a wish list, and will have the opportunity to visit again to make purchases.
Purchases can be made with cash, check (made out to Eugene Field PTO), or the Scholastic ewallet

The Bethany-Give Kids a Smile Mobile Dental Clinic will be visiting Eugene Field on Tuesday, August 25th.
Services Provided: Dental exam, cleaning, fluoride varnish
This exam satisfies the IL state requirement for K, 2nd, 6th, and 9th graders
Who is eligible: Children up to age 18 with Medicaid benefits, or children without private dental insurance
To participate, fill out the permission form and return it to Eugene Field by Tuesday, August 25th. Parents can reach out to our school nurse, Mrs. McGuire, with any questions.
Parents and guardians of 6th graders, Band and Orchestra Open House is next week on August 17 and 18! This is a great opportunity for your student to explore music, try out an instrument, and learn more about the Band and Orchestra programs.

We’ve loved seeing our scholars transition into new grades, meet new teachers, reconnect with friends, and take on new opportunities for learning and growth.

Our district-wide in-service brought Team RIMSD together for a day of learning, collaboration, and inspiration as we prepare to welcome scholars back to our classrooms.
A special thank you to Dr. Sydney Morris, Chief Education Officer of Instruction with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), for delivering an inspiring keynote that challenged us to continue putting scholars at the center of everything we do and to embrace the opportunities ahead.
As we begin a new school year, we are grateful for every member of Team RIMSD whose passion, dedication, and commitment help create meaningful learning experiences for our scholars every day.

The first day of school is just one week away! We can't wait to welcome our scholars back on Wednesday, August 5, for an exciting start to the new school year.
Please note that elementary schools will dismiss at 2:10 p.m., following the regular Wednesday early dismissal schedule.

What an incredible afternoon at our annual Ready to ROCK event!
A heartfelt thank you to all of the families who joined us, our dedicated staff, our amazing community partners, and the many volunteers who helped make this event such a success. Your support and enthusiasm created an afternoon filled with smiles, connections, and excitement as we prepare to welcome our scholars back for another great school year.
From school supplies and community resources to fun activities, free food, and meeting school staff, this event truly showcased the power of our Rock Island-Milan community working together.
