Our anti-bullying PSA is here, and we have an important message to share: Say no to bullying!
The Communications Department and Student Services teamed up with colleagues and scholars across RIMSD-41 to spread this important message.
Creating a safe, welcoming environment starts with each of us. A little kindness, speaking up, and looking out for one another can make a big difference.
Together, we can make sure every scholar and team member feels safe, supported, and valued. Because in the Rock Island-Milan School District, Rocky Pride means looking out for one another! ❤️💛
OPERATION PRINCIPAL APPRECIATION: A SUCCESS!
October is National Principals Month, and last week, we celebrated our amazing principals in a special way during Principals Appreciation Week! ❤️ Our administrative team visited schools each day with small surprises to show our principals just how much they are appreciated. The week wrapped up with a special Principal Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, October 23, at Pagalo’s Pizzeria & Gelato Cafe in Milan!
Each day brought a little something different, along with a reminder of just how much our principals mean to our school communities!
🍿 Monday: Popcorn — Thanks for popping in and making a difference!
🖍️ Tuesday: Highlighters — You highlight the best in everyone!
🍬 Wednesday: Life Savers — You are lifesavers to our schools and communities!
🍫 Thursday: Reese’s — There’s no one quite like you!
🍕 Friday: We wrapped up the week with a luncheon celebrating the incredible leaders who work hard every day to support our scholars, staff, and families.
A big THANK YOU to our administrative team for helping make this week special, and an even bigger thank you to our principals for the dedication, leadership, and care you bring to your schools every day. Your work makes a difference, and we are grateful for everything you do!
As National Principals Month continues, we're celebrating the incredible leaders who help RIMSD thrive. Thank you for leading, inspiring, and making a difference in our school communities every single day! 👏
The Reading Revolution continued this week as Mrs. Castro’s second-grade class welcomed a special Mystery Reader: Tammy L. Muerhoff, Regional Superintendent of Schools for Rock Island County!
Mrs. Muerhoff read Don’t Wake the Bear! by Steve Smallman, a fun story about woodland animals planning a spring party while trying their very best not to wake a sleeping bear! She also shared more about her role as Regional Superintendent and the many ways she supports schools throughout the county. Our scholars were eager to learn about her work, and the new pencils she brought along were an added treat!
Thank you, Mrs. Muerhoff, for taking time out of your day to share a story, connect with our scholars, and help make the Reading Revolution a community effort!

Thank you both for your dedication to supporting our scholars, uplifting our school communities, and making a positive difference in the lives of others. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition!

School districts can not function without the presence of strong partners! We are incredibly fortunate here at Rock Island Milan School District #41 to have established both long-standing partnerships as well as newly created ones to help meet the needs of our families. Simply put, we can not do the work we do with our community partners! Join us in celebrating Gas & Electric Credit Union as a "Spotlight Partner" for September!

This year’s slogan is “Be a Girl’s Girl,” focusing on lifting each other up, cheering each other on, and learning how to be the kind of friend every girl deserves.
Our Superintendent, Dr. Williams, and Eugene Field Principal, Mr. Campbell, also joined in on the fun and participated in the run!
A big thank you to all of the families and staff who came out to support our girls and make the event so special!

The parade begins at 3:30 p.m. at Hauberg Park on 24th Street. The parade will travel south on 24th Street to 25th Avenue, then continue to Rock Island High School.
Come out and celebrate with our scholars, staff, and school community!
