We hope this message finds you and your family well. While online learning has been implemented in phases and begins to take root for the remainder of our 2019-20 school year, we have been planning and orchestrating school wide desk and locker cleanout. All personal items have been collected from desks, lockers and staged in plastic bags with student names and homerooms on labels for efficient drive-thru pick up. We will be ready to return these personal items to you on May 11th and 12th.
We are asking that each family write their name on a large sheet of paper with the student’s name(s) and teacher(s) so that as you pull to the front of the pick up line, staff has non-verbal communication regarding what materials you are here to pick up. For pick up purposes, we will utilize 31st Ave in front of the school. Please pull all the way up to our east lot and open your vehicle’s trunk. We ask that any library books or other school property are placed in the trunk of your vehicle and opened when you arrive to be picked up by staff as we give you your student’s bag of personal items. (at this time we will not be collecting Chromebooks) Items will be exchanged without contact, as we want to maintain social distancing throughout the process. Again, please arrive with paper communication that you can hold to your window to communicate what items you are there to pick up. We want to avoid communications that require staff to be closer than is recommended.
We are assigning times by last names, as indicated below, to keep things moving efficiently. We do ask that all drivers and passengers remain in vehicles the entire time you are here for safety purposes.
Monday, May 11 Schedule: Tuesday, May 12 Schedule:
Last name A-K : 4:00-6:00 PM L-Z : 4:00 - 6:00 PM
Wednesday, May 13 10:00 Am - Noon A-Z
If your student has medication at the school and would like to pick it up along with your items, please reach out to our school nurse, Ann Mangelsdorf at Ann.Mangelsdorf@rimsd41.org
Lost and Found items will be located in the West parking lot. Please help yourself while maintaining social distancing.
Thank you for your patience and on-going support as we all learn together and support our children academically, socially and emotionally through this period. Please call our office at 309-793-5935 if you have any specific needs or questions pertaining to pick up of personal items or drop off of school property.
